Simple Tips to Save Water
In the Bathroom...
- Fill the bath tub halfway -- this can save 10-15 gallons.
- Take shorter showers, this can save 3-5 gallons.
- Turn the water off while brushing your teeth
In the Kitchen...
- Be sure your dishwasher is full before running it.
- Run a full load of clothes in your washing machine.
- To rinse fruits and vegetables, use a bowl of water rather than running water over each one. Reuse the rinse water to water your houseplants.
- Fill the sink with water to wash your dishes by hand, then rinse all of the dishes at one time.
In the Garden...
- Use a self-closing nozzle on you garden hose.
- Water you plants and yarn in the evening or early morning.
- Don't use water to clean sidewalks and driveways -- use a broom.
